Department. Whether you are sizing a piping system, an oil removal
filter or an air dryer, you'll need to know just how much air your
compressor will deliver. The following formulas provide a simple and accurate way to determine the output capacity of your compressor. Small Piston Compressors up to 40 HP
4.2 CFM/HP Example: A 100 HP rotary screw compressor, operating at 105 PSIG will deliver: 5 CFM x 100 HP = 500 CFM (cubic feet / min) *Horsepower (HP) used in above formula is motor nameplate HP.
